An attempt has been made to develop a simple analytical technique that can readily be used in an industrial laboratory to isolate and quantify the precipitated carbides in steel samples. Attempt has also been made to correlate this value with the thermodynamically predicted values. There is good agreement between the predicted and experimental results. More work is in progress to develop this technique for the preparation of Certifed Reference Materials with dissolved and precipitated carbon in steels. 相似文献

[formula: see text] Aminocyclodextrins are known to bind phosphate esters such as phosphotyrosine and p-nitrophenyl phosphate. This paper describes the inhibition of phosphate ester hydrolysis, as catalyzed by lambda-protein phosphatase and acid phosphatase, that is caused by such binding interactions. ROESY studies provide structural information about the cyclodextrin-aryl phosphate complexes. We report the electrical resistivity of HCl doped polyaniline in the temperature range 77 T 300 K. A maximum is obtained in the conductivity versus concentration of HCl curve at 3(N) HCl. The resistivity of the sample has been observed to show a decreasing trend with increase in temperature. The resistivity obeys the Mott variable range hopping theory. The Mott characteristic temperature (T
Mott) is very low in this sample compared to other studies. The Hall voltages have been found to be negative. The Hall coefficient, carrier concentration, and density of states have been determined from Hall measurement. Type II diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder that can lead to serious cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and retinal complications. While several drugs are currently prescribed to treat type II diabetes, their efficacy is limited by mechanism-related side effects (weight gain, hypoglycemia, gastrointestinal distress), inadequate efficacy for use as monotherapy, and the development of tolerance to the agents. Consequently, combination therapies are frequently employed to effectively regulate blood glucose levels. We have focused on the mitochondrial sodium-calcium exchanger (mNCE) as a novel target for diabetes drug discovery. We have proposed that inhibition of the mNCE can be used to regulate calcium flux across the mitochondrial membrane, thereby enhancing mitochondrial oxidative metabolism, which in turn enhances glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS) in the pancreatic beta-cell. In this paper, we report the facile synthesis of benzothiazepines and derivatives by S-alkylation using 2-aminobenzhydrols. The syntheses of other bicyclic analogues based on benzothiazepine, benzothiazecine, benzodiazecine, and benzodiazepine templates are also described. These compounds have been evaluated for their inhibition of mNCE activity, and the results from the structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies are discussed. 相似文献

Assuming the Riemann Hypothesis, Montgomery showed by meansof his pair correlation method that at least two-thirds of thezeros of Riemann's zeta-function are simple. Later he and Taylorimproved this to 67.25 percent and, more recently, Cheer andGoldston increased the percentage to 67.2753. Here we proveby a new method that if the Riemann and Generalized LindelöofHypotheses hold, then at least 70.3704 percent of the zerosare simple and at least 84.5679 percent are distinct. Thin films of cadmium doped zinc oxide rod like microstructure have been synthesized by a very simple sol-gel dip coating
technique. Sols were prepared from hydrated zinc oxide precursor and 2-methoxyethanol solvent with monoethanolamine as a sol
stabilizer. XRD pattern confirmed the hexagonal wurtzite structure of the deposited ZnO films. Surface morphologies of the
films have been studied by a scanning electron microscope and an atomic force microscope, which confirmed that the films are
composed of densely packed randomly oriented nano/submicron rods with diameter in the range 300–400 nm having various lengths.
We proposed a possible growth mechanism for this rodlike structure. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic study was used to determine
the binding energies and the Zn 2p3/2, Cd 3d5 and O 1s peaks in the XPS spectra were located at 1021.08 eV, 404.6 eV and 529.8 eV
respectively, which confirmed the Cd doping in ZnO. Cadmium content in the film was estimated both from energy dispersive
X-ray analysis and XPS measurement. Band gap energy determined from optical transmittance spectra systematically varied from
3.28 eV to 3.15 eV for 0% to 5.6% of Cd doping. Urbach parameter determined from the band tail of the transmittance spectra
showed that it increased with doping percentage and this parameter for a fixed cadmium doping level decreased with increase
